Welcome to Middle and Upper School Admissions

We know that choosing the right school is a deeply personal journey for your family. That is why our admissions process is intentionally designed to allow us to genuinely get to know both your child(ren) and your family over the coming months.
 
We invite you to learn more about our primary entry point in Grade 9, where we expand our community by welcoming a vibrant cohort of approximately 60 new students. You may also explore possibilities within our other middle and upper school years (Grades 5–7, 10, and 11), where enrollment is contingent upon availability through student attrition. Please note that our admissions procedures vary by grade level, and we do not accept applications or offer entry for Grades 8 and 12.
 
To help us build a complete picture of your child, our process looks at a variety of elements—including family conversations, teacher insights, transcripts, essays, and testing. Every requirement is intentionally chosen with one goal in mind: to deeply understand your child’s distinct interests, strengths, and unique voice.

    Step 1: Fall Events
     
    Open House
    Designed for prospective Grade 9 students and their parents or guardians, our Open House provides a firsthand look into the Upper School experience through conversations with our Head of School, faculty, and students. Families are welcome to join us either on campus or via our virtual livestream.
     
    For those joining us in person, the first hour will feature presentations and panels in our Hawley Chapel, followed by an opportunity to explore our campus freely. If you plan to attend virtually, the livestreamed program will take place during the first hour.
     
    Please note that participation is completely optional and strictly non-evaluative; we do not track attendance, and you do not need to have initiated an application to join us. If you are eager to learn more about the Trinity experience and the vibrant community at the heart of our school, we warmly invite you to register.

    Financial Aid Webinar
    We believe strongly that our community should be a reflection of the city and the world around us, and in doing so, seek to make a Trinity education accessible to every talented student regardless of financial circumstances.
     
    Please join our Director of Financial Aid for a webinar on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at 6:30 PM. This session will provide insight into our financial aid policies and process, guidance on navigating the Clarity platform, and an overview of our enduring commitment to equity and accessibility.
     
     
    Step 2: Submit Your Application
    The link to create your account in our online Portal will go live here on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at 8:00 AM. After submitting your initial application, you will receive a confirmation email, and this secure platform will serve as your primary home base throughout the admissions cycle.
     
    Within your personalized Portal, you will be able to:

    • Track your progress via a customized admissions checklist.
    • Upload required documents and view detailed instructions for next steps.
    • Access official updates and admissions decisions in one centralized place.

    Step 3: The On-Campus Visit
    Once your initial application is submitted, we look forward to welcoming you to campus. This time together is designed to be a natural, engaging extension of our process—an opportunity for us to experience your child’s unique voice, and for your family to get a genuine sense of our community.
     
    For Applicants: You will participate in four distinct elements designed to let you shine: a one-on-one conversation with an admissions officer, a collaborative group activity, a short writing exercise, and a campus tour led by our current students. Throughout each component, our goal is simply to meet you exactly where you are, ensuring you feel comfortable, seen, and supported.
     
    For Parents & Guardians: We believe in partnering with the whole family. During the visit, you will have the opportunity to tour our campus, connect organically with current Trinity parents, and spend dedicated, personal time with an admissions officer to share more of your family's story and discuss any questions you may have.
     
    Scheduling Your Visit: To ensure we can accommodate your family on your preferred date, please submit your initial application and schedule your visit through your Portal by Sunday, November 15, 2026. After this date, appointments will be subject to our remaining availability.
     
    Step 4: Completing Your File
    We look forward to reviewing your application once all pieces are in place. To complete your applicant file, please ensure that all required supporting materials are submitted through your online Portal by Friday, January 8, 2027.

  • Application Process: Grades 5鈥�7, 10 and 11 (Attrition-Based)

    Grades 5–7, 10, and 11 are considered non-entry points at Trinity, which means that enrollment opportunities only become available if a current student departs. Because we typically do not know if these openings will exist until later in the school year, the timeline for these grades is uniquely paced.
     
    To best support your family through this uncertainty, our primary focus is simply on completing your applicant’s file. Should a seat become available in the late winter or early spring, we will reach out to you personally to guide you through the next steps of our process.
     
    Please note: Trinity does not accept applications for Grades 8 or 12.

    Step 4: The On-Campus Visit and Rolling Decisions
    Because spaces in these grades are determined entirely by student attrition, files are considered on a rolling basis as openings arise. Should a seat become available in the late winter or early spring, our office will reach out to you personally to schedule an On-Campus Visit.
     
    Please note: Only completed files can be reviewed when an opening occurs.

    Q: How do I start the application process?
    A: Applications are submitted securely through our online admissions portal. While families are warmly welcome to attend our Open Houses before applying, a submitted application is the first step required to schedule your On-Campus Visit. The application fee is $75, and this fee is automatically waived for any family applying for financial aid.
     
    Q: What are the requirements and expectations for standardizing testing and the On-Campus Visit?
    A: Applicants for Grade 9 submit results from either the ISEE or SSAT, taken between August and December of the application year. We look forward to hosting all Grade 9 applicants and their parents or guardians for an On-Campus Visit, which includes a personal conversation, a group activity, a student-led tour, and a written assessment. To ensure we can accommodate your family, please schedule this visit through your portal by November 15.
     
    Q: Does Trinity offer Financial Aid?
    A: Yes. A Trinity education should be accessible to every talented student regardless of financial circumstances, and we offer a robust, need-based financial aid program to support our families. To begin, simply indicate your interest on your initial application and complete the financial profile through the Clarity platform. Our financial aid and admissions reviews run side-by-side throughout the season, and choosing to apply for aid has no bearing on a student's admissions evaluation.
     
    Q: Which grades are open for admission?
    A: Trinity primarily welcomes new cohorts at our designated entry points in Kindergarten and Grade 9. While we accept applications for Grades 5, 6, 7, 10, and 11, enrollment in these non-entry grades only becomes possible if a current student departs. Because these openings depend entirely on attrition, the timeline for non-entry grades is uniquely paced.
     
    Please note that Trinity does not accept applications or admit new students for Grades 8 or 12.
     
    Q: What are the residency requirements?
    A: Trinity is a community-centered day school rooted in the daily lives of our families; we do not offer boarding facilities or sponsor student visas. All students must reside full-time with a parent or legal guardian within commuting distance of the school, and applicants must be fully proficient in English to thrive in our academic program.
